Vierter Sieg für Tobias Dauenhauer (D) in Grobnik (Kroatien) vom MOMO Team

Wenn man Tobias Dauenhauer (23) mit Lewis Hamilton vergleichen will, wird er sehr verlegen, doch wie Lewis Hamilton die Formel 1 dominiert, so dominiert Tobias Dauenhauer 2021 die EuroNASCAR EN2!

Nun schon 4 Siege! Und es hätte in Grobnik (Kroatien) auch Sieg Nr. 5 folgen können.

Beginnen wir mit der Qualifikation am Freitag. 30 Minuten war die Qualifikationszeit in der EuroNASCAR EN2 angesetzt, davon wurden in 20 Minuten im #50 MOMO Ford Mustang die defekten Vorderbremsen ausgetauscht. Es blieben noch 10 Minuten für Tobias Dauenhauer, um die Bremsen zu checken und Rundenzeiten zu fahren. Doch schon in der zweiten Runde hämmerte der junge Deutsche die Poleposition in den Asphalt der Rennstrecke von Grobnik. „Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass das Team die Reparatur in 30 Minuten hätte schaffen können, und ich hatte mich schon mit der letzten Startreihe abgefunden.

Poleposition für EuroNASCAR EN2 Rennen 1 am Samstag. Er rollte, wie gewohnt zur Startaufstellung, merkte aber am Ende der Boxenausfahrt ein lockeres, linkes Hinterrad. In der Startaufstellung wurde das Rad gewechselt. Doch das ist in der Startaufstellung nicht erlaubt. Beim 14 Runden Rennen (21 Starter) zog der junge Deutsche, an erster Stelle, bis auf 4 Sekunden davon. Er sah schon wieder wie der sichere Sieger aus. Doch die Rennleitung fand keine Gnade mit dem Radwechsel in der Startaufstellung und verdonnerte Tobias Dauenhauer zu einer „Durchfahrtsstrafe/Drive-through-Penalty“! Der sichere Sieg war damit futsch, doch mit Platz 6 konnte er noch einige Meisterschaftspunkte retten, und fuhr auch noch die schnellste Runde, die ihm die Poleposition zum Sonntagsrennen sicherte.

Am Sonntag schlug Tobias Dauenhauer zurück. Von der Poleposition enteilte er, wie gewohnt, dem 21 Fahrer starken EuroNASCAR EN2 Feld, bis auf 8 Sekunden nach 14 Runden! Dabei zeigte er seine Dominanz auch wieder mit der schnellsten Runde.

„Das mit dem Rad und der Durchfahrtsstrafe hat mich beim Samstag Rennen zwar geärgert, doch den Mechanikern kann ich keinen Vorwurf machen, sie haben bisher immer einen Top Job gemacht. Es war ein Material Problem. Doch das Sonntagsrennen hat mich wieder entschädigt! Ich denke, dass ich jetzt auch um das EuroNASCAR Championat 2021 ein Wörtchen mitreden kann, dafür habe ich in den letzten Rennen hart gearbeitet. Danke ans gesamte MOMO Hendriks Team (NL).“

Der Erfolg vom Grobnik Wochenende: 2 X Poleposition, 2 X schnellste Runde, 1 Sieg und ein Platz 6.

Im EuroNASCAR Championat 2021 führt Tobias Dauenhauer mit 295 Punkten, 4 Siege und 4 Poleposition. 7 X Top 5 Ergebnisse und 8 X Top 10 Ergebnisse. Was für eine Zwischenbilanz.

Noch zwei Rennwochenende stehen an: 09./10.10.2021 – Zolder (Belgien) und den Abschluss bildet Vallelunga/Rom (Italien) am 30./31.10.2021

When somebody want to compare Tobias Dauenhauer (23) with Lewis Hamilton, the German becomes a bit shy, but just like Lewis Hamilton is dominating Formula 1, Tobias Dauenhauer is dominating EuroNASCAR EN2 in 2021!

Now four victories already! And it could just as well have been victory number five at Grobnik (Croatia).

But let’s start with qualifying on Friday. 30 minutes of qualifying tiume in the EuroNASCAR EN2 had been scheduled, but 20 minutes of these were used to change the defective front brakes on the #50 MOMO Ford Mustang. Only ten minutes remained for Tobias Dauenhauer to check the brakes and post lap times. However, on his second lap already, the young German cemented pole position at the Grobnik circuit. “I would never have thought that the team would be able to complete the repair in 30 minutes and I had already accepted having to start from the back of the grid.”

Pole position for EuroNASCAR EN2 race 1 on Saturday. As usual, he made his way to the grid, but at the end of the pit lane he noticed that the left rear wheel was loose. The wheel was replaced on the grid, but that isn’t allowed. In the 14-lap race with 21 participants, the young German pulled a four-second gap in the lead of the field. He already seemed on course for another win. However, race control didn’t approve of the wheel change on the starting grid and imposed a drive-through penalty on Dauenhauer. That was a safe victory gone, but by finishing sixth, he still saved some championship points and also posted the fastest race lap, securing victory for the race on Sunday. 

On Sunday, Tobias Dauenhauer struck back. In his usual manner, starting from pole position, he pulled away from the 21-car EuroNASCAR EN2 field, building up an 8-second lead after 14 laps. In the process, he also showed his dominance again with the fastest race lap.

“The issue with the wheel and the drive-through penalty really annoyed me during the Saturday race, but I can’t blame the mechanics in any way, they have been doing an excellent job so far. It was a material issue. However, the Sunday race again made up for it! I think that I am now also in with a shot at the 2021 EuroNASCAR title, something I have been working hard for during the past races. Thanks to the entire MOMO Hendriks Team (NL).”

The success from the Grobnik weekend: 2 x pole position, 2 x fastest race lap, 1 victory and 1 sixth place

In the 2021 EuroNASCAR standings, Tobias Dauenhauer is leading with 295 points, 4 victories and 4 pole positions. 7 x Top 5 results and 8 x Top 10 results. What an interim result.

There are still two race weekends remaining: 9/10 October 2021 – Zolder (Belgium) and the season finale in Rome (Vallelunga/Italy) on 30/31 October 2021.
